SENSOPAD was proud to be represented by Freda at The Dove Foundation for Global Change’s landmark Parliamentary event focused on shaping a global regulatory blueprint for women’s health innovation.
The event brought together regulators, policymakers, researchers, clinicians, innovators and global health leaders to discuss how international collaboration can accelerate the approval, adoption and accessibility of women’s health solutions worldwide.
The discussions highlighted the urgent need for faster regulatory pathways, stronger collaboration, improved evidence generation and more equitable access to women’s health innovations globally. The event also reinforced the growing recognition that women’s health is not only a healthcare priority, but also a major economic and societal imperative.
The Dove Foundation for Global Change’s wider G20 Call to Action emphasises that no country can achieve sustainable economic growth while women continue to experience disproportionately high rates of preventable ill health, delayed diagnosis and inadequate access to care. Despite women representing half of the global population, many health conditions affecting women remain under-researched, underdiagnosed and undertreated.
Conditions such as cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disorders, reproductive health conditions and chronic pain syndromes continue to expose major gaps in healthcare systems worldwide. The consequences extend far beyond healthcare alone, impacting workforce participation, economic productivity and long-term societal wellbeing.
Recent global data highlighted by the Foundation demonstrates the scale of the challenge:
- 3.9 billion women worldwide spend approximately 25% more of their lives in poor health compared to men
- Millions of disability-adjusted life years are lost annually due to conditions disproportionately affecting women
- Closing the women’s health gap could unlock an estimated $400 billion in global GDP annually by 2040
- Broader investment in women’s health could contribute up to $1 trillion in annual global economic growth
At SENSOPAD, we strongly believe collaboration is essential to accelerating innovation in women’s health. Through our work on advanced technologies for the early monitoring and detection of conditions such as endometriosis, we see first-hand how cross-sector partnerships can help transform prevention, diagnosis and patient care.
The event reinforced the importance of building stronger connections between innovators, healthcare providers, regulators and policymakers to ensure that promising technologies can reach patients faster while maintaining the highest clinical and safety standards.
The conversations at Parliament also highlighted the importance of improving research representation, investing in women-focused innovation, strengthening diagnostic pathways and ensuring healthcare systems are designed around women’s biological, social and economic realities.
As healthcare systems globally continue to confront persistent inequalities in women’s health, initiatives such as this landmark event demonstrate the importance of coordinated international action and long-term investment in innovation, regulation and evidence-based policy reform.
We thank Freda for representing SENSOPAD at this important event, and The Dove Foundation for Global Change for leading these critical conversations that are helping shape the future of women’s health innovation globally.
As SENSOPAD continues its mission to advance data-driven and patient-centred women’s healthcare solutions, we remain committed to supporting collaborative efforts that drive innovation, accessibility and better health outcomes for women worldwide.
